HortiMark is an independent study tool for RHS Level 2 candidates. This page explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.
Account data
If you sign in, we store your email address, an optional display name, and an optional exam date. We use this to save your progress across devices and let you sign back in.
Study data
Your answer attempts, scores and cue-card progress are stored against your account so we can show your progress over time. We do not sell or share this data.
Plant observations
When you log a plant observation (first flower, pest sighting, etc.) we store the plant, observation type, date, your free-text note and the outward postcode only (e.g. "SW1", never the full postcode). We do this so the aggregate UK map can show phenology across the country. Anonymous, aggregated data may be shown publicly. Your individual rows are only ever visible to you.
AI marking
When you submit an answer for AI marking, the question prompt, the official mark scheme and your answer text are sent to a third-party large language model via Lovable AI Gateway. We do not send your name or email with that request.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time by emailing us; this removes your profile, all observations and all answer attempts. You can also delete individual observations from the Observatory page.
